I’d seen Dan, a.k.a. Disturbo hard at work at his drawing board in a studio/office space I was sharing with Slant Productions and Mondo Live at the time I was working at the NFB. He is one of the pioneers in Montreal’s graffiti scene and was doing some amazing illustrations for Mondo-Live’s upcoming entertainment site (tragically, like much creative work for the Web it never saw the light of day).

His "touch" impressed me. It was confident and contemporary, heavily influenced by many years of writing graffiti, as well as his involvement in Montreal design house Heavyweight Productions (hvw8.com/). I arranged to be able to hire him to collaborate on the ECHO site.
