The Explore Canadian History Online (ECHO) Prototype
2000

Detail from The ECHO Prototype Home page found in the Screen Capture Gallery. The Echo Site (Explore Canadian History Online) was part of the NFB's vast Canadian History Web project. I was brought in as Artistic Director late in the game. So, I immediately hired a team of Web designers that would be able to create a look and feel appropriate for the project's target audience of 18-25 year olds. We worked closely with the Technical and Content teams to produce a working prototype.

The ECHO prototype remains an unpublished Web site, but the production experience and design concepts were not wasted. Ultimately, they played a key role in advancing the NFB's subsequent Web development initiatives.

Below are links to a number of screen captures and other documents related to the project. They give an idea what that the unseen prototype looked like, and offer some insight to the production process.
